"It's SHOW Time"

That’s right, we can hardly believe it ourselves, but there’s only 2 weeks to go until The Wine Show opens its doors at the Coca-Cola dome in Northriding! The Show is on from June 4th to 6th.

Now in our 5th year, you’ll surely not want to miss this years Show. There’s well over 500 labels on show for you to taste and buy, and all sorts of fun to be had. Make sure you miss the queues at the door buy booking your tickets ahead of time via computicket. Click here to buy your tickets now.

Have you ever tasted a white Pinotage? No? Well, you should… it’s delicious. Mellasat Vineyards from Paarl are on stand B29 and produce just a few barrels each year of a hand-made white Pinotage that usually sells out before bottling. Pop along and have a taste with wine-maker and owner Stephen Richardson. Following on the “unusual whites” trail you must also take a turn at stand C1 where Zandberg are showcasing SA’s (and possibly the worlds) first white Merlot. Wine Extra hadn’t tasted this intriguing wine at time of going to press, but we’ll be making our way there for sure.

Golf fans will be excited to learn that The Goose Wines (co-owned by Retief Goosen) are manning the full-swing virtual golf machine at stand C33 and are running an exclusive competition at The Wine Show to win an all expenses paid trip to Fancourt, including golf, a visit to The Goose Wines estate and helicopter trip! And if that wasn’t enough, the wines are blerrie delicious too!

There’s a strong international flavour at this years show, too. Interested in tasting hand-made, small grower, “Premier Cru” Champagne that retails for less than a bottle of Moet? Well make sure you visit Frogitt & Vonkel on stand D27 (look for the cream and green roof)

F&V are showcasing their exclusive Champagne imports from Lacourte-Godbillion. This family run producer literally make their Premier Cru Champers under their house and have been a firm favourite of F&V customers for 5 years…but their Champagne is usually sold-out before it docks in SA, so you need to place your orders at the show.

Love Italy and Italian food and flavours? Idiom Wines on stand C24 are showcasing their premium selection of wines made from Italian cultivars. These exceptional wines are also being paired with mouth-watering Italian food by an “imported” Italian Chef live in the Friends for Dinner Theatre on Saturday (5th June) at 6pm…don’t miss it!

The Wine Show is just one weekend from the World Cup kick-off… and Nederburg are with us showing their special range of “official” wines produced for the event. You can taste them on stand A9.

If you love cheese make sure you taste the camembert from La Petit France on stand D21 it’s a firm favourite of the team here at Wine Extra. Devine.

Leopards Leap join us for the first time this year, too, with an exciting wine cocktails stand. We were sceptical at first, but WOW! These easy to recreate at home wine-cocktails are simply delicious and well worth stopping at stand D21 to sample.

The Wine Show is not only SA’s leading consumer wine event, but we’re also the only wine show where you can (in most cases) buy wine from exhibitors to take home immediately.
